Organized in 1989, the Asian American Federation of New York is made up of seventy members who serve the pan-Asian American community through advocacy, research, and organizational development. AAFNY has used its power as a collective force to secure millions of dollars for community development projects and advance policies for the Asian American community. Some of their major efforts included the development of the Chinatown-NoMad Business Improvement District and the creation of Mayor’s Office of Asian Affairs.
