Black Panthers

The Black Panther Party was founded by college students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in Oakland, California to advocate for social and economic justice for Black communities. The Panthers were active in education, legal aid, food drives, and free transportation for families to visit incarcerated relatives and became prominent Black power figures during the civil rights era.
