San Francisco Community Design Center

Chuck Turner was an architect and community organizer who co-founded the San Francisco Community Design Center, a nonprofit organization that focused on improving the quality of life in low-income neighborhoods through community-based design and planning. Under Turner’s leadership, the CDC advocated for affordable housing, equitable urban development, and sustainable design practices in San Francisco. The nomenclature “community design center” was adopted from this organization.
