Hester Street Collaborative (HSC) is a non-profit organization that works to improve public spaces and community infrastructure in underserved neighborhoods through community-driven design and planning. The origins of Hester Street Collaborative can be traced back to founder Anne Frederick’s work in the Lower East Side, where she observed that community members were often left out of urban planning processes, and began organizing community workshops and design charrettes.
