Urban Design Forum

The Urban Design Forum (UDF) is an independent membership organization that empowers professionals of diverse backgrounds, industries, and perspectives to shape a better future for all New Yorkers. It was launched in 1978 at the “First National Conference on Urban Design: Cities Can Be Designed” by journalist Ann Ferebee as the Institute for Urban Design. In 2022, UDF and ANHD launched Local Center, a city-wide initiative that partners community organizations with technical experts and designers to implement public interest design projects.
