The Architectural Renewal Committee in Harlem (ARCH) was an advocacy planning organization founded by architect Richard Hatcher, planner John Bailey, and later joined by Max Bond in Harlem, New York City. The organization promoted the revitalization and preservation of Harlem’s historic buildings and architectural heritage, which were under threat from neglect, disinvestment, and urban renewal policies. ARCH is part of the first generation of community design centers.
