Originally founded as the Pratt Area Community Council, IMPAACT Brooklyn has been active for sixty years representing the interests of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Wallabout, and Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhoods in Brooklyn. From leading the efforts to preserve local housing stock in the face of the urban crisis to pressuring city government to create community assets like libraries, the organization has continually advocated away from the destructive policies of the 1970s and 1980s. In 2015, IMPAACT began to expand their constituency to encompass the rest of Brooklyn.
