Linn was a renowned landscape architect, educator, and psychologist who advanced the concept of the ‘neighborhood commons’ in the urban environment. Ian McHarg invited him to join the Landscape Architecture department at the University of Pennsylvania, where he became friends with Louis Kahn and Lewis Mumford.
