Karl Linn

Linn was a renowned landscape architect, educator, and psychologist who advanced the concept of the ‘neighborhood commons’ in the urban environment. Ian McHarg invited him to join the Landscape Architecture department at the University of Pennsylvania, where he became friends with Louis Kahn and Lewis Mumford. His embrace of community design service led to the creation of his Neighborhood Renewal Corps , a nonprofit design-build corporation that would influence the course of community design centers.
